Platt's thesis has long been something like "beauty is reality,"
based on an extension of the Quality thesis.

Hi Matt:...Platt's thesis an 'extension of the Quality thesis'?? I
find this very, very odd to say the least. The 'alternative phrasing
of Quality is 'the undifferentiated AESTHETIC continuum'...nothing
'original' (as appears to be implied) on Platt's part..it can be found
in Northrop's The Meeting of East and West.

Matt:
And with the idea of "Dynamic Quality [better reality--i.e. more beautiful]
is the pre-intellectual cutting edge of reality," I think we can begin
to see much better how Platt stands on Pirsig's shoulders.

Platt standing on Pirsig's shoulders??? This is an insult to Pirsig!!
