Kenny and I took a vacation together this past summer.  Just the two of us.
Our first ever like that.  We went to Colorado and rafted the Royal Gorge.
It was a BLAST.  After that, I decided Kenny needed an education, so we
drove up over Independence Pass and down into Aspen.  He was pretty scared
of the road.  Poor Texas boy had never seen real mountains before.  It's
one-lane for part of the way and the drop off is probably 7000 feet off the
edge.  I told him when he got to the top it would be his turn to drive.  He

The last time I was there was 1974.  At the top of the pass we stopped to
look around and met this cool couple on a Harley on their way to Aspen too.
I don't remember their names now, but the woman is the one that took our
picture together on top of the pass.
  
When we got to Aspen the first thing I asked was how to get to Woody Creek
Tavern.  We had dinner out there.  It was great.  The atmosphere is
fantastic.  I understand why Hunter liked to write there.  It's in the only
"poor" part of Aspen there is.  You drive by a bunch of trailer houses (all
with bikes parked out front).  I had fish tacos and a couple of margaritas
and Kenny had a steak (I spoil my son).  Here's a picture of it.

The motorcycle parked in front belongs to that same couple that took our
picture on top of the pass earlier that day.  It was a coincidence.  We had
a great time, just wish I could remember their names...
