one-part a victory for a massive disinformation campaign and one-part 
a referendum [against unscrupulous methods].

You forgot the most important part= liberation from years of 
"representation" by Ted Kennedy, surely one of the worst politicians 
of our age. (Though John Edwards trying hard to catch up.)

If it was liberation from Ted Kennedy, it would have been him not 
being re-elected. Since he was re-elected each and every time he ran, 
I'd say this is an incorrect analysis.

I doubt Ted Kennedy was "one of the worst" of our age, a list he is 
surely trumped on by the likes of Larry Craig, George Bush, Ted 
Stevens, Strom Thurmond and Ronald Reagan*.

John Edwards is certainly not a very good man. I can forgive a lot of 
things, denying your own child is not one of them.

* You knew that was coming, didn't you? lol...
