That is actually being allowed to happen with the full approval of the
government because that part is where the water comes form. the golan
heights are the same, it's not about land but rather water sources.



As to your comment earlier about the islamist movement and why the re
insurgency now? 
Well when people have legitimate grievances, no matter how little they
are,  that keep getting trampled they will rally behind the first thing
that might offer them hope in fighting their cause.
After the Katrina disaster in New Orleans, if the Devil himself had
showed up, and offered help by providing immediate aid, rebuilding roads
and hospitals, water and sewer, people would have joined him. As they
say, when the economy gets tough, the Arts are the first to suffer. That
goes to the MOQ too, when people have to go in survival mode, the
intellectual dies and the biological mode takes over.
