And has it ever crossed your mind, Bo, that even if you
were 100% right, and everybody else including Pirsig was
wrong, you'd still be wrong because you fail the crucial
test of "intersubjective agreement". Meaning is socially
construed and created, and Matt's pointing out to you
that your very inflexibility is a proof of wrongness.

Matt:
Easy there tiger. You can say that if you want, but I tried
my hardest to avoid saying that nobody agreeing with Bo
is proof that he's wrong. It isn't. It's just proof that he
hasn't convinced whomever he hasn't convinced. All it
might suggest is, as I suggested, that he hasn't changed
his communication style very much, which suggests to me
he hasn't changed much (though I grant Bo his own
opinion). Meaning is socially constructed and whatnot,
but that doesn't mean truth _is_ intersubjective agreement
(the false view Mr. Buchanan keeps saying Rorty and, ipso
facto, me entertain).

And I appreciate your loyalty to the crowd now gathered
here, and not giving a shit what Paul Turner did or thought,
but I do miss Paul because he was a good guy and easy to
talk to about disagreements, helpful in straightening out
what was what.

And if your only reason for not giving a shit about Paul is
that he's not here (and therefore irrelevant), by that logic
Pirsig would be irrelevant, so you might want to find a
different reason.
