The tension is the evolution within the intellectual level, where a dominant
SOM paradigm is being replaced with a MOQ paradigm. Intellect is not
"dominating" or "absorbing" the MOQ, the MOQ is improving intellect.

bring it into the amoral fold and by doing so emasculate it. 

[Arlo]
The MOQ offers an improvement to SOM's blindspot, it is a better intellectual
pattern than SOM. The MOQ is not "emasculated" by intellect, it IS an
intellectual pattern. Quality, to be sure, is NOT, but the MOQ IS.

An MoQ defined (and thus controlled) by SOM is no longer the MoQ...

The MOQ IS "definition". It is a metaphysics. The MOQ is not "undefined",
Quality itself is, sure, but the MOQ IS a definition, an intellectual pattern,
that offers a better solution than SOL.
