We can hurl quotes at one another all day without reaching consensus as to
exactly what Pirsig meant by what he said.
[Arlo]
Except about the SOL we don't need to hurl quotes. Pirsig has said that he
considers the MOQ an intellectual pattern, and that he does NOT agree with Bo's
"interpretation".
Pirsig's MOQ: the intellectual pattern is NOT SOM.
Bo's MOQ: the intellectual level IS SOM.
We don't need to "reach consensus" on this, they are different, distinct ideas.
If you think Bo's MOQ is better, fine, yippee frickin' skip. But its not what
"Pirsig meant by what he said". (Or, I suppose, you can walk Bo's path of
claiming that Pirsig's denials about meaning this simply prove he himself is
too stupid to understand what he himself meant.)
