Exactly, Platt.  Zen is an intellectually formed teaching designed to kill
intellectual thinking.  It can't be said to be based on S/O thinking because
it transcends S/O thinking.  An intellectual process guided by Quality.

 if you insist on the SOM dictionary definition of intellect, then I can't
accept it as the proper label for the evolutionary 4th level of
realization.  I bring up Leonard Shlain's Art and Physics to make this point
all the time - that high quality intellectual realization has its formation
in non-intellectual aesthetic insight.  But the terms we use confuse this
point.
