I agree.  Theism is changing.  But it has always been changing.  It may seem
static but that's because its rate of change is on the scale of global warming.
But that's another topic.
  
Whether the change is cyclical or along a continuum is another question.  I
tend to think the change is cyclical.
  
I can't say for certain since I'm no scholar but I wouldn't be surprised to find
that what Tillich, Barth, de Chardin, Lonergan, Merton and Nouwen are saying
is what was said by Teresa of Avila, Hildegard of Bingen, Theresa of Lisieux
and Julian of Norwich.
