Hello DM,
DM said: "Of course Eastern religion tried more
to relate to nature by submisssion, surrender,
adaptation, tao, rather than fear leading to control
being sought, hence west took to science more than
east."
This is an insightful interface of events you
have mentioned here. This might be why so many in the
west now-a-days speak as if science is the answer,
yet, miss out on what science itself relies upon,
which is philosophy, which is thought, which is
consciousness made static. That's how I would
describe thought - static consciousness. Therefore we
have a thought about this or that, which is DQ made
more and more defined or having definition. How we
gain reliable static awareness so we may each
understand not only each other, but the rest of nature
is an evolution in what we did know and now we do
know. Others in the past knew enough to survive and
now we're here trying to do the same. The static
patterns have changed due to the many new 'things' in
the world today in this culture and its' relations far
across the globe. Have we kept fear intact by
creating larger giants to slay? I mean we could
possibly some day rocket ourselves to Mars.
Yet, would the Eastern surrender philosophy be
our consciousness trying to take into account many
'things' involved in the bigger picture of what is not
only morally doable, but open to what may seem old
fashion such as the simplicity of the woods? I am
seeing a merger in my consciousness between the East
and West that others probably have realized and I am
now more and more realizing is present already. The
approaches may seem different, but I see both at work
in our minds now. It may just depend on which one we
focus on more readily, yet, the other is still here
speaking to us, helping us in our endeavours.
For instance, when we take a read or step back to
contemplate a situation wouldn't that be more Eastern
focused? Yet, when we attempt to engage the world and
take a risk because we may not be able to know
everything that is going on in any given situation,
but the situation calls for us to make that decision
(whatever that decision is) due to not having the
quality time to be more Eastern focused or something
else, wouldn't that risk be us stepping into a certain
direction of DQ? Would are surrendering person find
themselves moving into DQ moments? Sure, but if the
wild fire is burning quick towards you will you
contemplate and do something to live? Yes, and the
contemplating (Eastern focus) and do something
(Western focus) come together. You mentioned
adaptation with Eastern thought. I see that with
Western thought, too. I don't think one is
necessarily more conservative than the other (risk
factor). The west thinks and contemplates, too. Yet,
the more a pattern of thinking (system of relations to
decide upon) any individual or society may have to
make is motivated by how many decisions are to be
made. With the expansion of China and Japan on the
world market, these occurrences are thought of as
introductions by the west. Thus, these countries need
to make more and more decisions as to what they will
need to do faster and faster. China, I believe, tries
to keep the process slow, but some of the TV programs
I have seen shows a quick paced Beijing and other more
western influenced cities being present in this large
country. Is all of this a balance of time consumed or
having to be consumed on more and more introductions
of thoughts or in other words, more and more static
patterns that demand attention? Thus, this becomes a
measure of how much we are able to study the DQ
moments come at us and need identify into static
quality?
This might not be as solid as a thought as it
could be. The discussion may be young still. What do
you think?
