[MD] Is Enlightenment a sort of madness?

Hello Ilya,

Ilya you skipped out on the response I had for
you in [MD] MoQ as Religion on Wed Apr 5 03:30:06 PDT
2006. Maybe you were done with the discussion and
ambiguity I postulated about your post?

Why does the explanation have to be as you
stated: "Of course this explanation would be SOMist,
but it could still be of use.

What is enlightenment? I think it occurs when
somebody comes into full contact (conscious of the
contact and everything) between the usually defined
static quality experience and DQ comes along, meets
upon with static events and we allow (we don't resist)
the dharmakaya light that opens our view of the world
with undeniable dynamic quality. We feel refreshed.
Our perspective changes and yet, we might be at odds
with those that resist the dharmakaya light and stay
tense. They don't look for a way out of their
everyday tense world. They think this must just be
the way it is. Yet, somewhere and at some point in
time somebody comes along to help them realize that
something else is here. So the world walks with
masters teaching. Schools open up, soon kings and
politician's open their arms to these teachings.
Then you have somebody that fully realizes how
the DQ can keep on coming or happen. They realize how
the dharmakaya light is for anybody to realize and it
only can be realized in certain well valued places.
The environment has to be nurturing for such DQ
events. DQ is tender, soft, and full of strength. It
is as hard as a rock and as soft as water. It is as
bright as the sun and as dark as the deep caverns of a
cave. Yet, it can only survive and flourish in
humankind under certain conditions. These certain
somebodies realize this and when called upon by kings
and emperors they do not show up. When called upon by
all the wealth in the world they turn it down. When
many books full of chapters that go and on about their
accomplishments are to be written about them and DQ,
they know that book will never be complete. The
following is a paraphrased quote from what I remember
from a book that had Zhaungzi's teachings.
Zhaungzi was asked by the king to come to his
court to be his advisor. The king heard many great
things about Zhaungzi and his teachings. When the
messengers of the king reached Zhaungzi to ask him to
come to the kings court, Zhaungzi turned them and the
king down. Zhaungzi said to them, "Doesn't the king
have a dead turtle's shell in his court." The
messengers replied, "Yes." Zhaungzi said, "Well, I
will stay out here and fish where my tail can still
live and make marks in the sand."
Quality needs a lot of care and time to flourish
and have good growth in its' vines.

Thanks,
SA
