[Platt lamented]
Leniency for the lawlessness in France and on the borders of the U.S. are
symptomatic of a breakdown of the social order in West, not to mention the
inability of the civilized world to mount a coordinated defense against
aggression from fundamentalist factions in the Middle East.

[Arlo]
What's the problem? Lawlessness in France? Simple. Bang. Dead protestors. No
more threat.

U.S. borders? Bang. And maybe a few big kabooms. No more illegal immigrants.

"Aggression from fundamentalist factions". The MOQ is clear, we should nuke them
right away, without leftist-wussie delay. Tonight. Right now. All our nukes.
Kaboom! And you know what, since we are morally justified, we should drop a
nuke on Cuba, just for fun. Piss off those leftist commie biogerms.

[Platt]
Pirsig blames this sad state of affairs on a "twentieth century collapse of
morals," brought about by an objective, scientific view that has had a lethal
defect.

[Arlo]
Golly gee. Thank god the right-wing American conservatives have seen through
this and are able to respond to morals.

[Platt]
In effect, the reigning SOM mindset says of everyone that "no matter how hard
he tried, no matter how hard he worked, his whole life is that of an animal
that lives and thinks like any other animal. He could invent moral goals for
himself, but they are just artificial inventions." (Lila, 22)

[Arlo]
Jesus, yes! Once they think they are nothing but animals, the next thing they'll
do is start demanding fair labor practices. Imagine! Fortunatley, we have
Neocons to tell us that man is divine, and so he will passively accept his
place as a "resource" to be bought and sold and discarded like chattel.

[Platt]
With morality up for grabs by any individual or group who wishes to invent them,
it's little wonder than French students riot over the lack of a guaranteed
job...

[Arlo]
The MOQ justifies killing them like germs.

[Platt]
Congress considers granting amnesty to law breakers...

[Arlo]
Again. Bang. What part of "moral ruthlessness" don't you understand?

[Platt]
and a majority in the West can’t agree to impose sanctions on a nation that
defines itself as a deadly enemy.

[Arlo]
Sanctions!? Fuckin' leftist, Marxist commies and their "sanctions". The MOQ is
clear. Nukes. Boom. No more threat.

[Platt]
In the absence of a moral framework, the watchword among intellectuals today is
"tolerance" of all things, great and small. The result? Pirsig explains:

[Arlo]
Everyone but Americans should be killed. Fuck tolerance. I think the MOQ
supports this, yes?

[Platt]
"It was like watching the spider waiting while the wasp gets ready to attack it.
The spider can leave any time to save its life but it doesn't do so. It just
waits there, paralyzed by some internal pattern of responses that make it
unable to recognize its own danger. The wasp plants its eggs in the spiders
body and the spider lives on while the wasp larvae slowly eat it and destroy
it.

[Arlo]
Wait.. are you descibing the Bush administration?

[Platt]
"These days, even the most skeptical of scholars admit that traditional forms
of religion are on the rise and that millions of spiritually hungry students
are questioning the chilling, strictly rational creeds of secular modernity.
Faith is making a comeback and the high priests of mainstream academia cannot
understand why."

[Arlo]
Which side wants "prayer in school"? Which side wants "religion" in public
office? And you're citing the above as an example of a "malady"? Wait..
sorry... I mean, kill all the fundamentalists. Err, except American Christian
fundamentalists, those are okay.. because they pay for our campaign.

[Platt]
"The end of the twentieth century in America seems to be an intellectual,
social, arid economic rust-belt, a whole society that has given up on Dynamic
improvement and is slowly trying to slip back to Victorianism, the last static
ratchet-latch." (Lila, 24)

[Arlo]
Oh, yes. And how modern conservatives loathe the notion of a return to
Victorianism. Why they would never, ever push us in this direction. No sirree,
its those blasted commie Marxists lefties, those "love everyone" hippy freaks,
that are pushing for our return to a more strict, intolerant time.

[Platt]
What did you expect?

[Arlo]
Nothing but the usual hypoCRISY actually. Thank you.

Arlo
