The collective activity of individuals on the intellectual activity (the law of
gravity, calculus, thermodynamics, habeas corpus, etc.) may someday give rise
to yet another emergent level.

[DM]
The level of human flourishing perhaps!

Dogbert and Dilbert were having a conversation. Dogbert pondered, "Simple
molecules combine to make complex chemicals. Simple cells combine to make
complex life-forms. Simple electronics combine to make powerful computers.
Logically, all things are created by a combination of simpler, less capable
components".

Dogbert goes on, "Therefore a supreme being must be our *future*, not our
origin."

"What if," Dogbert continued, "'God' is the conciousness that results when
enough of us are connected by the Internet?"

Dilbert ponders this. "That would certainly limit the types of files I download.
I wonder what it would do to response times? My web browser would FLY!"
