I say, the "us" in my sentence is the "culture" in Arlo's, and "the
subject" was the values of an education system. It's the "received
wisdom" in that "culture that devalues" that has misplaced its values
in knowledge.

Right values, right knowledge. Dead simple.

Sadly, yes, but they were rarely being complimentary.
