[Platt]
Who believes your "voice of individual freedom" to run around naked in public
when you won't post a photo of your naked body on the internet?

[Arlo]
I'm sorry, I believe in many freedoms that I don't personally partake in (such
as calling others "niggers"). But your attempt to make this (again) into some
huge slope issue is insipid. Believing one should have the freedom to go
topless when one chooses has nothing to do with posting nude shots on line.

[Platt]
Let's see. I think that's called "hypocrisy."

[Arlo]
No, hypocrisy is your attempt to paint yourself as a defender of "individual
freedom" when in every recent conversation (apart from economics and ethnic
slurs) you side against it. Typical of the right-wing propaganda machine. But
there in the archives for all to see.

[Platt]
As for freedom to utter "nigger" I hope you've made clear your position that
it's OK to your friends and associates on campus. Otherwise, hypocrisy fits the
bill again.

[Arlo]
Why yes, Platt. Once again you try to imply something that just ain't true. In
every class I've been in where this has been discussed, I've sided with free
speech.

[Platt]
The individual freedom I care about is free speech and participation in a free
market that, to quote Pirsig, " . . .makes everybody richer by preventing
static economic patterns from setting in and stagnating economic growth."
Obviously, becoming rich is anathema to your Marxist views.

[Arlo]
The Marxist criticisms I bring to bear are identical to Pirsig's. As for your
selective application of "individual freedom", yes, I know, if it doesn't
involve wealth or ethnic slurring, you could care less.

[Platt]
Banning anything forced on the unwilling by a barbaric religious dictum is a
blow in favor of intellect.

[Arlo]
So much for individual freedom. Once again, it only means "to be like Platt".
Question, are those little Jewish caps also ban-worthy, as they are also
religiously enforced dress? What about Bindis? The headresses worn by nuns?
Should we ban those too? Oh wait, we're right back to all those unanswered and
evaded questions from the actual thread. Think you can answer them this time?
Should I repost them?

As for banning religious dictums, does that mean you favor erasing "In God We
Trust" from public currency, and that you think Christmas displays should be
banned from public grounds? Why wouldn't these things be a "blow in favor of
intellect"?

[Platt]
Of course, you cheerfully bow before the stifling dictums of the academy so I'm
not surprised you don't get it.

[Arlo]
Yes, I know how upsetting it is for conservatives to have to produce
intellectually sound arguments and tenable positions, without relying on
propaganda and right-wing bully tactics. I bet it is "stifling" for you to have
to do these things, so a law forcing relativism, and the demolishion of
Intellect, is the right-wing way. Always has been, just ask Pirsig.

[Platt]
As for laws requiring English, what's the policy at your university?

[Arlo]
There is none as far as I am aware. Indeed, I lobby to make second (and third)
language acquisition the norm. Monolingualism is a malady. Protect the word
"nigger", forbid entire languages. What a joke.
