Hi All,
The morality of profit is sometimes questioned on this site. Here is why I
consider it moral:
The pursuit of profit is the moral right to pursue one's own happiness applied
to economic effort. It is immoral to prevent someone from pursuing his own
happiness.
As wealth is required to support one's life, the increase of wealth through
production and trade -- the creation of profit --adds to one's life. It is
immoral to prevent someone from supporting his own life.
Profit is the symbol and reward for the value of your creation, as judged by
others who have freely given their wealth to you in exchange for it. It is
immoral to prevent someone from engaging in a free exchange of values in a free
market.
