Well you above comment is right.
The sad part is I would rather have a monopoly that controlled all
telecommunications on a "good faith" bases so i would not have to decide
who my phone provider is, my cell phone is, my DSL or cable is. Also all
the solicitation to change from one to the other, and the federal taxes
that I have to pay on each bill. Yes the break up of Ma Bell did
encourage competition to a point and prices did get lower but now we are
back to square one, 3-4 monopolies buying and selling each other out and
charging each other outrageous fees to access each others' their lines.
