Hi SA,
If you'd like to look more into what can and cannot be defined might I point you in the direction of Lila? In it Pirsig goes into great detail about the two giving them the conceptual names of static
quality and Dynamic Quality.
That said, having not read Lila your writing is a pleasure to read.
