[MD] Quality, Beauty, Truth or truth

Hey Marsha,

As David Harding said, I have not yet read Lila,
but I have ordered it and it should be here any day
now. It probably took Pirsig two books, plus
interviews, and from what I have gathered there is
still some question as to what he was exactly trying
to put across as his view-point of quality.
When you say quality is a truth and the value of
a positive or negative experience defines how useful
the event was or is, then are challenging times
reaching beyond static quality into an experience that
is more of a dynamic quality? For example, walking up
a hill is tough, and this particular hill I never
walked up before, yet, it will be a new experience and
a shortcut back to the house, and who knows maybe just
by having this new experience I'll reach outside the
box of my static quality and challenge myself into a
dynamic quality kind of experience. I might be way
off track here until I read Lila, excuse me if I am,
and I'll drop this discussion now. What do you think?
