Ham,

GPS is Global Positioning System, and the device
that is hand held is capable of giving a number that
corresponds to where on the earth you are. There are
maps that help one know where one is when such and
such a number comes up on the screen. Also, they
provide elevation. Cloudy days may disrupt or slow
down its' feedback, because the information is
gathered from satellites positioned around the earth.
These satellites communicate with each other creating
a matrix on their curved orbit that allows the hand
held device to receive the information based on their
combined logistical positioning. The key word here
was curved, which Newtonian physics could not account
for and thus GPS could not work, until Einsteins'
physics was used.

Mu means something. It is not a sound like
ooomm. It means 'not this' or 'yes and no' at the
same time or 'not yes and not no' at the same time,
etc... This is a simple answer that I was trying to
avoid. I would not conclude its' definition based on
what I have said. Sometimes it is used, even outside
of Zen, to give an answer that disregards a certain
question somebody has asked. This is done in a way
such as when you might read a question, and if the
question has nothing to do with you or what you are
talking about, then you might answer N/A or not
applicable. Mu might mean something like this from
what I have gathered. I know Essence in your
philosophy is applicable, but some of the questions
asked about it or some of the discussions put forth
concerning Essence. Essence itself may provide an
answer that states: N/A, therefore freeing Essence to
mean something else not defined by Difference.

Also, are you saying that by focusing on the
tools or analogies of philosophy some may not be
touching upon the heart of a particular philosophy?
Is that the difference between what you think Arlo and
you are doing?

SA
P.S. I read some more of your thesis today. I am
about half-way through. I will get back to it
tomorrow. I need to get ready for work here shortly.
