Some continued interjected thoughts...

Someone suggested to me the other day the tumor-western medicine analogy.
Historically, the western approach to tumors has been invasive surgeries,
radiation and chemotherapy. Little attention has been placed on the behavioral
and environmental alterations that could have prevented, or lessened, the depth
of the tumor. Certainly, once the tumor is life-threatening there may be little
choice BUT invasive procedures. However, a true physician would value the
overall health of her/his patient rather than the moment of righteous pleasure
that comes with attacking the tumor.

This is precisely the problem with the right-wing fanatics who continue to show
they are more concerned with their own sense of righteousness, than with
actually preventing "tumors" in the first place. Platt has asked if killing an
intruder to protect your family is moral. And, while the answer is "yes", the
situation is such that if I was REALLY concerned with the welfare of my family,
I'd want to know what complicity I have had in putting them at risk.

This is the truth both sides refuse to acknowledge. The article Khaled sent a
few weeks ago speaks of the stand-off this pissing contest has created. If
neither side is willing to acknowledge ANY culpability or responsibility in
creating this tumor, then not only will "war" be inevitable, but it will
continue to produce more and more tumors, which then will blindly be met with
cries for more "war".

Platt also continues to mention that the hippie revolution was a moral
revolution that failed. I think that this is the KEY to moving forward with the
MOQ. What we should do is go back to what the hippie movement did RIGHT and see
where we could take it without falling prey to supporting only biological
quality.
