Hello all.
I would like to change the focus onto MOQ as a method and drop morality for
a while to see if I have understood the levels correctly and give everyone a
chance to build some common ground.
Question: How does the use of language fit within the MOQ frame work.
Inroganic Level:
Sound passes through the inorganic level.(D)
There is no language as there is no life.
Biological level:
There is no language below the realm of sentient beings, life forms that
posses a brain.
Language occurs on the level of sentient beings.
Language is the projection of sound of biological drives, such as mating,
warning and distress calls. (D)
Here may be the roots of the social level, as animals become dependant on
one another to survive in the jungle it becomes in an animals evolutionary
interest to look after other members of its species.
The grey area, animals such as dolphins and whales have rather complex
languages which can travel over a greater distance than a human voice.
Dolphins also show an affinity towards man, during the Tsunami of 2005, a
group of dolphins caught the attention of some divers and lead them to
safety behind the Island. Is that not social, concern for other species,
beyond ones own emidiate needs? Elephants also demonstrated the awareness of
the oncoming Tsunami even if none of the dumb humans where not suspicious
that the tide had mysteriously disappeared. Who says humans are all
intellectual? This I provisionaly posit as Dynamic awareness of the
inorganic level beyond that of there percieved sensory limits. Is there a
better way of fitting it into MOQ?
Animals will connect with humans via the medium of sound, who has not had a
"moment" with a member of another species. Some birds can even learn to
speak in our language and express oppinion, I have seen a case on TV where a
bird expressed the desire to go home in English. It had got tired of being
in front of the camera's listening to two people talk about it and said on
more than one occassion "I wanna go home." It had the understanding of the
abstract idea home. Is home a biological level neccessity or a social
concept?
Social level:
Transmission of basic concepts.(D) (Is this biological?)
The belief and expression of religious concepts. (I make a distinction
between concept and experience.)(S)
The communicate of laws.(S)
The vocing of national prejudice and anthems.(S) (If it leads to racism is
that then biological?)
The expression of oppinion. (D) (Is this biological?)
Intellectual level:
The verbalisation of mathematics, psychology and science, the logical
description of facts, methods and observations. (S+D)
(D)=dyanamic.
(S)=static.
