Let me rephrase that. I am trying to compare the terms "lack of quality"
and "inferior quality".

are they the same thing?

Is quality black and white or are there shades of grey.

Like saying someone is very pregnant. Well you are either pregnant or
not.

or saying someone is very honest. you are honest or not.
