Hello Ian,

At the moment I'm neither pro-MOQ nor anit-MOQ. At the moment I find
it all too confusing. I agree with almost all of what Pirsig said in ZMM
Lila. But he was silent on so much. For the past several weeks I've
been trying to figure out what the Metaphysics of Quality is. And I'm no
closer today than I was two months ago.

I've noticed several people who post regularly here (Anthony, Marsha and
dmb) say the Metaphysics of Quality is anti-theistic. Some also say
Pirsig is anti-theistic. So I looked for "theis" (i.e., theism, theistic,
atheism, anti-theistic, etc.) in both ZMM and Lila and found only one
reference. It's on page 119 of Lila. It's an innocuous reference to a
difference between Indians and whites.

I'm beginning to get the sense that, because of the anti-theist sentiment
here, that moq.org is more concerned with what the Methaphysics is not
than with what it is.

What is the the Metaphysics of Quality? Is it what Pirsig says it is in
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and Lila? Or is it what is
delineated in Pirsig's two books plus what the group at moq.org says it
is?

Kevin
