Joe; A healthy dose of skeptism I could do with at times.

If the intelllectual patterns of evolution has left the Godhead behind then,
then religions, which deal with the belief in God, social, (generalising
here, but I class Buddhism more as a philosophy, and a practical path to
emlightenment), no longer has the higher ground, it is below the
intellectual. As such the weight from morality, The Law, the guide rules for
how people are to run there everyday lives, must come from above. Why else
follow the law? In this scenario it is the intellectual level, an
intellectually guided democratic state. I believe the process is already
begining in Europe, France being the main example, with its policy of
banning all religious iconography from schools. Britain is also being to go
down the path of strengthening state power because of the "threat of
terrorism." Man has lost the ability of lowering his head, because he does
not concider anything to be greater than himself, state, is one of the few
things that has the potential of altering the trend of biological freedom
for social stability. I can forsee the states of Europe becoming more
draconian over the next few years.

Regards Joseph Bromley.
