Re: "[the MOQ] is anti the 'static' baggage that seems to go with most
theism, and most religion for that matter."

Thanks for the clarification Ian.

Re: "[...] anyone bringing their religion / god into the MoQ is however
going to face some tough tests of fitness."

Thanks again. I hadn't considered doing that. What I might consider
someday, if and when I am clear on the MoQ, is bringing the MoQ to my
religion. Just a thought at the moment. Nothing serious.

Re: "Quality undefined ? No not true, never fully defined by a 'definition'.
Defined by what we and the MoQ do with it."

I think I can agree with this. Ian, can I take this to mean that Quality's
meaning takes shape in the process of searching for it? That is, if one is
not interested in it, has no desire to explore it, wouldn't lift a finger to
work on it, then one will find no meaning in Quality. But if one is
interested in it, desires to explore it, works hard to search for its
meaning, then one will find meaning in it?

Re: "MoQ undefined ? Definitely not true. Very well defined in terms of its
components and its structural relationships. Ant's summary in the
opening two paras on the Intro page of his site is as good a (static)
written definition as any. http://robertpirsig.org/MOQSummary.htm"

And thanks for the URL. And thank you Anthony for making this
available.

I guess the problem with the question, what is the Metaphysics of
Quality, is that beyond its "well defined [...] components and its
structural relationships" its application, in terms of what people do with it,
is all over the place. The claim to anti-theism is one example.

Re: "The fact that 'quality' as a key component is not axiomatically
defined should be no surprise. the root of every metaphysics has this
problem of recursive (first cause)definition, so far as I can tell."

No problem here with that.
