Horse,

Does moq.org know where all members live?

>> PS Is there anyone here willing to own up to ever being a "hippie"?

Yep. Me. Got involved with bikers a bit later on, about 1972/73 but still kept
pretty much to the
hippy ethos and have done ever since. Not entirely but to a great extent.
There appear to be some differences between the american and british hippy
movements
though as I fail to recognse a lot of the criticisms made regarding hippies on
this list. <<

My recollection is that "hippie" was like a big umbrella for a number of sub-groups.

In San Francisco circa 1967-68 The Berkley Barb ( one of the so-called "underground papers ) had a
cartoon: Two Officers with dark raybans on patrolling the streets in a " Black and White " ( the icon of
plice car ) On the side of the car were "kills" like pilots had on the sides of their airplanes: X's over 10 Black Panters, 8 hypodermic needles, and a dozen long hair hippie freaks. There seemed to be a fair amount of those sub-groups in the music as well as the politics of hippiedom.

So now you know where i was during "The Summer of Love" i was also in the Army stationed at The Presidio

Smith
