You not only want to avoid being characterized by others, you want to
express your ideas by innuendo. No wonder you have difficulty getting your
views across!
It seems only reasonable that a discussion under the heading "Baggini
Interview with Pirsig" should elicit a variety of reactions, and some
nit-picking as well. Considering that most of us have our own perspectives
on these issues, and show no reluctance to debate them, being "prickly"
about a bit of editorializing strikes me as hypersensitive.

Well, good luck. But don't hold your breath waiting for my "sensitivity" to
emerge.
I gather that you wish to hold discourse only with orthodox Pirsigians who
empathize with your point of view. I think that's somewhat narrow-minded,
if not self-defeating, in an open forum like this. But, hey, it's no
problem for me.
