Please consider that the conflict here might between thinking styles.
A Corp that I once worked for was using the Myers-Brigg Topography for team
building. At the time it was suggested there are two types of thinking
styles: abstract and concrete. The two types think very differently and
have different objectives.
Matt:
Oh, I think you're probably right. I think DMB and I have many differences
ranging from goals to style to vocabulary to (possibly) philosophical to
mood. I just don't know what to do with him anymore. He never seems happy.
He never seems to be having fun, except in that negative, adversarial
model of philosophy where you wish your perfect argument would make the
other guy's head explode. I mean, I like wrestling with adversaries, but I
don't think I take it as seriously as DMB does. I like tussling with
friends, not trying to avoid being argumentativly raped by people who don't
care about me (except in that condescending way). And I probably don't look
like I'm having fun anymore around here either. That's because more and
more I'm not. There's just something wrong with some of the dialogues that
go on around here. Its hard to put a finger on.
