[Steve]
I forget who talked about falsifiability as the requirement for a valid
scientific theory. There was a mention of Popper. Does anyone have a good
reference that you could point me towards to read up on Popper or the
current ideas about the philosophy of science?

[Case]
"Wittgenstein's Poker" is a pretty good if you are interested in who he was
and his relationship to the Vienna Circle. It was not so much about
philosophy as philosophers. I have seen his work available in Barns and
Noble.

[Steve]
I'm specifically wondering in what way is evolutionary theory falsifiable.
Also, is creationism falsifiable?

[Case]
Evolutionary theory would be false if it could be shown that the universe
was very young, say, 10,000 old.

Creationism could be falsified only by converting its believers into
Buddhists.
