[Platt had said]
That's all greenie, tree-hugging, environmental wacko stuff the libs love.
[Marsha wondered]
Is emotive language a sign of the Intellectual Level?
[Arlo]
Just more evidence of the ridiculous things people will say when all they are
concerned with really is the Party War. "Bicycling is wacko stuff the libs
love".... How sad. But quite expected. You see, in Platt's Party Uberalles
World, "enviornmental" is a commie, liberal, evil world. And so anything and
everyone that raises even the slightest concern, such as my lamenting the drop
in air quality in my town, must at first and only be painted as the Evil
Archenemy.
But, as I said before, Platt is an extreme caricature, and so tries to paint
others as such. I hike and fish with many "conservatives". They all express the
same concerns over the air, water and land as I do. It is not a
"liberal-conservative" issue. But the Party Jesters simply can't see that. To
them, everything is.. HAS to be.
I mean, I suppose in Platt's world "good moral conservatives" aren't supposed to
care about air quality? Or maybe they are supposed to believe Limbaugh over
their own experience when he says "there is no problem at all". Or maybe "good
conservatives" believe that their duty is to suck it up in the name of
progress. I mean, if someone, somewhere is making money, then living with the
pollution is just the American Way.
