There are some Pirsig "pilgrims" that do the whole ZMM route.
Well, I visited my first Pirsig trip location yesterday.

I had a spare late afternoon / early evening after business locally,
and so I drove to the Jersey coast - to Navesink Highlands and Sandy
Hook, location of the final scenes in Lila. Busy mid-summer activity
quite different to imagining rowing ashore and the lonely walk in late
October to find a provisions store before returning to find Lila with
Rigel.

Did it on impulse, glad I did.
Pirsig in reverse.
