As I understand them, they are the absolute basis of math, the tenets
without which math could not function. Such as "a point has no dimensions."
I was also under the understanding that they are unprovable.

All scientific theories are unprovable. It is an impossibility to Prove a
scientific theory as True. We simply assume it is until it is contradicted.
This how all science, and all scientists work.

Those both sound like Faith to me. What would call believing and unprovable
fact?
