case, peter, et al,
sorry, the words are common...just trying to make as
simple as poss. i see you prefer more indulgent
stuff...i find *that* melodramatic, kitschy and
irriating. different strokes....
by the way it seems to me that neither of you did
understand my point. i am actually making a logical
point vis-a-vis the concept of infinity and what it
means in a more existential sense. that is whether
you like the language or understand or not there can
be only one infinity and if everything is infinite
(endlessly fractal and unique) then you should see
that everything is the infinite: emptiness: form,
form: emptiness.
how seeing, rationally and intuitively, that we are
one with everything we perceive can ever be seen as a
nihilistic stance !?!?!......existentially and
logically it suggests a kinship and comfort with the
universe that operates in direct opposition to
alienation and nihilism....to me anyway.
i work with trees and plants and grow my own vegies
so i feel the reality of what i am saying everyday.
that is the aliveness and intelligence of the world is
subtle but palpable all the same....and this is as far
from nihilism as it gets.
perception is infinite in the sense that everything we
perceive is infinitely detailed....i am not trying to
say anything more complex than this. the more you look
the more you see.....there is no end.....it is
infinite....
and yes it is like jeremiah, exactly the same. we are
at the limits of linear language when we try and
explicate the concept of infinity. that is what koans
are for....biblical or eastern.
i hope this is helping someone out there a little cos
already the arrogant naivety of some on this list is
wearing very thin already......
cheers
gav
