[MD] Faith

Just got back from a trip, only one real point I wanted to make here.

DMB, somewhere I saw you say that faith was "belief in the face of
contradictory evidence"? Something akin to that. I lost the quote in the
heap of e-mails I just read. That is most assuredly Not my definition of
Faith. That is my definition of Ignorance, and it should be stamped out at
all turns.

I think of Faith more in terms of "Belief without certainty". Which is
probably an atypical definition, and is likely causing a lot of trouble in
our conversation here. So why not, as Case said, stop using the word Faith
at all! Drop it, and it's religious baggage. Why not use Trust? I think it's
as close to the idea i am trying to get across as anything else.

I Trust in science, I Believe in science, because it is true so very often.
I don't believe in Religion, because it strikes me as a very negative
construct of static patterns which limits further experiencing of DQ.
Science is better.

Is Trust okay?
