[MD] sideways drifting

Hi Marsha,

This is what I usually think of as "constituencies",

Anytime we use "we, us, or our" we are mentally identifying ourselves
with constituencies which are anything (and everything) from "the
royal we" to "a citizen of the world".

It's interesting as a Cosmos / Mankind / European / Brit (but rarely
English) style of person to observe the archteypical US perspective as
being "US" by first instinct.

I have often wondered the rather fatuous thought that perhaps it's because
"US spells us" - memes do work in raher wonderful ways, and certainly
people would use such arguments for people identifying with religious
groups :-)

Certainly the need for well defined "borders" is a pragmatic
consideration, where an idealism tends to suggest there would be less
trouble (higher quality) without them.
