DMB,
DMB said elsewhere:
Yea, roughly speaking, the difference between tradition and intellect is the
difference between the 3rd and 4th levels of the MOQ. But I don't see how
that distinction fails, or how it leads to scientific realism, or why it has
to get torn down along with SOM. Take me through it, will you?
DMB said in this thread:
I wonder if you could educate me here. There has been quite a lot said
against the notion of "Absolute Truth", but I only have a vague notion of
what that means. Could you give an example? Could you quote somebody who
actually asserts such a thing? I've always been baffled by this.
Matt:
I put these together because I wanted to let you know that I'm not going to
do either tasks. They are both fair enough questions (though I think the
second one a little facetious), but they are large affairs that deserve a
lot of attention and I simply don't have the time to pull together the
things I've been talking about (since these two things are preoccupations of
mine and most of what I say can be seen to gear towards either of these) to
write a concentrated version. Sorry.
Matt
