Gene said awhile back:

[Gene]
How about this: "There probably aren't any absolute truths."

It's a nice provisional truth, that I'm choosing to use right now
because it's much more convenient for understanding and discussing the
world. Neither the existence of or non-existence of Absolute Truths can
be shown, so we simply choose the most convenient of the two. For us,
their non-existence is convenient because it opens to us new realms of
possibility, whole new valleys in the High Country. However clearly the
former is more convenient for you because it allows you to balk and
mold conversations the way you want them to go. And that's cool man.
Let's just be clear that nobody's right, eh?

[Platt]
You mean probably nobody's right, eh? And probably nobody's wrong. And
probably there aren't any absolute truths. And probably there are some.
Because you've ruled out any absolute statements, you probably should
attach "probably" to anything you want to assert as true, just so your
reader knows you're not sure.

But in my heart know I'm right about a lot of things, even if I
probably can't prove it to your satisfaction. :-)
