[MD] Distinguishing Levels (Individual level)

Hey Platt,

Platt said: "Anyway, thanks for the explanation
of evolution as proposed in current scientific
thinking."

     Your welcome.

Platt said: "As you know, such thinking is
currently challenged by proponents of intelligent
design. So Darwinian evolutionary theory can hardly be
considered the last word."

Your definitely right here. That's why I've
stayed out of the individual vs. collective debate
going on. I really believe Arlo and you are saying
something that is true, but since truth is in both of
your views I would like to see some kind of merger
here between the two of you. Arlo is trying to merge
his view and get rid of dichotomies, which to me would
be to get out of the SOM viewpoint. Unless Platt you
think your totality correct, which as I said I notice
some truth in what you are saying, but Arlo is also
very convincing and has plenty of truth to share, too.
I don't think this argument needs to finish, unless
it has no end to it, but good philosophical
argumentation is healthy and very fruitful. This is
why even science, as you state above, is a quest, so
to speak where precision comes into focus, but the
view still has some blurriness, too, but doesn't this
go for everything - you know DQ that indescribable
aspect of quality. To use the train analogy, you two
are really chugging along at full speed right now.
:-)

Thanks,
SA
