Actually, I remember a passage in Lila that very specifically sets up that
an individual is a product of all the levels that make it up interacting.
Sometimes Biological and Intellect team up to overturn social, sometimes
social and intellect go against biological Quality. If the level of Quality
is great enough, it can overwhelm all other levels. When I really have to
pee, I stop whatever social or intellectual pattern is taking up my time and
go do it. Biology wins. When I'm reading a really good book, I forget to
eat. Intellect wins. No one level consistently dominates all the others,
it's always a blend of levels.
I dunno. I'm not even convinced this argument can be won anymore.
