Unlike the intellectual level, the inorganic, biological social levels
are not dominated by human individuals. The inorganic level is
dominated by particles, atoms and physical laws, the biological level
by DNA, cells and the law of the jungle, the social level by the
"Giant, conformity and the law, the intellectual level by human
individuals, reasoning and responding to DQ.

Calling the intellectual level the individual level reflects what is
most significant about the levels, their dominant or subservient
relationship to the other levels in terms of their higher or lower
morality.

What makes the MOQ better than other metaphysics? IMO the answer is
summed up in this passage from Lila:

"Taken by itself that seems obvious enough. But what's not so obvious
is that, given a value-centered Metaphysics of Quality, it is
absolutely, scientifically moral for a doctor to prefer the patient.
This is not just an arbitrary social convention that should apply to
some doctors but not to all doctors, or to some cultures but not all
cultures. It's true for all people at all times, now and forever, a
moral pattern of reality as real as H20. WE'RE AT LAST DEALING WITH
MORALS ON THE BASIS OF REASON. We can now deduce codes BASED
ON EVOLUTION that analyze moral arguments with greater precision than
before." (Emphasis added)

That's why I define the levels by their evolutionary moral
relationships. It is more moral to be a free-thinking individual than a
tradition-bound, mind-numbed robot (social level) , or a bomb-throwing,
throat-cutting terrorist (biological level).
