Thanks for the 2 articles you recommended.  I'm not too worried about the U. S. losing its role as world leader.  Let someone else have it--it's a thankless task.
The 2nd article did have me worried, though.  It referred
 to Chomsky as "America's leading thinker".  I rushed to the TV to see if somehow thousands of the nation's intellectuals had suddenly died.  However, it turned out to be just hyperbole.
