Jim, Bill or whoever is could no longer be trusted, like when Clinton lied
by saying, "I never had sex with that woman." His dishonesty was bad, and 
Phaedrus was quick to say so.

Actually Clinton said, "I never had sexual relations with that woman." From
what we know of the story this would appear to be truthful. At
dictionary.com the preferred definition of the term "sexual relations" is
sexual intercourse. Which supposedly did not happen. 

This is still clearly disingenuous but it is not a lie. Clinton was
attempting to use an excuse commonly called in the South: Eatin' ain't
cheatin'. It might, in rare cases, work on the Ol' Lady but that dog don't
hunt in middle America.
