Agree, Case. In "The Future of Ideas", Lawrence Lessig lays out a strong
argument for (what he calls) "the commons". He discusses at length the
airwaves, and the ongoing slow-burn that is selling them off to corporate
interests.

Lessig has another book Free Culture which is also worth the read. As I see
the point of his work and others in the same vein. The whole idea of
intellectual property is an anti-American oxymoron. To say that someone can
own an idea and not let anyone else use it is a low quality idea if I every
heard one.
