Hello David Beck,
SA said: "What of $ and work? This country
thrives on
consuming products and having a strong economy. If
one can't be apart of a culture that demands this,
then what use and help can one provide or stay latched
to a society that allows one to live amidst, as long
as, $ and work are in their equation?"
[David]
"I think to answer this we need to first figure
out why a person could not be a part of a culture."
I'm thinking hunting and gathering, barter
system, farming, and homeless people.
David goes on: "If someone feels they can't be
part of a culture that means at some level they are
experiencing a negative level of Quality by trying to
be a part of that culture."
Yes, but family, other people, and taxes are a
strong influence on how somebody will live. Even the
latter is a huge influence. Also, I couldn't just
hunt or trade for other things I might want or need.
At this point in my life, I am also influenced by my
wife. How would I live outside of this culture
without options.
David says: "Since I presume we are talking
about consumer culture I would like to know the ways
you think people experience low Quality and how that
relates to the different levels. If we figure that
out then maybe we can answer how a person could be
useful to consumer culture when they have can't be a
part of it."
Maybe what I wrote above will help you see what I
am saying. Quality time is a huge factor. Why work
so much for society, when we can work at home more
often, and still make enough $ out in society to use
for food and other things? Yet, our $ system,
consumer system is patterned for so much work needs to
be done out in society in order to make enough $ for
the family.
Thank you,
SA
