[Platt]
Creative people are the catalysts of evolution. They tap into DQ, the
"free force of life." That's why creative individuals are so
important. Pirsig illustrates this with the story of the brujo, and
puts the individual front and center by observing "someone has to be
first."

[Case]
Out of curiosity here have you checked out the source document I posted
regarding the originally account of the brujo? I wonder if it changes your
understanding of the story as related by Benedict via Pirsig?

[Platt]
Who is to say what the "public interest" is? All the horrors of history
have been done in the name of the public interest.

[Case]
Is this a trick question? In our society our elected officials determine the
public interest. Our history is full of horrors but we have only ourselves
to blame for electing the likes of Reagan and his evil spawn. Clearly, a
case of good men doing nothing.
