Hi Ant and David
When I was putting LILA'S CHILD together I had an idea for the cover, which
I shared with Robert Pirsig in a letter. He wrote back that he had some
ideas for the covers of his books too, but the publisher hires a graphic
artist to do the cover. He said that the professionals who do such work do
not accept input from the author as a rule. That's something I didn't know
and I found very interesting. As far as the new cover of LILA though,
perhaps Mr. Pirsig had a hand in it.
Thanks,
Dan
