[MD] Do genes experience?

Hi all,

perhaps I haven't been on these forums or read enough of the various posts
to be able to predict Platt's response when he returns - but the title of
his original post is 'Do genes experience?' and this thread seems now to be
discussing something completely different, namely politics in academia,
maybe that's what he had in mind. Yes, Dawkins does frequently grind his axe
against religion and religion may be seen as a form of politics but  I think
his real interest  is, like ours on  moqtalk to explore the underlying
nature of life.
