Ham,
Your right, we did discuss the 'eternal now'
before. This is what is difficult for me. I am
willing to use or explore a philosophy to understand
the philosophy, but once the philosophy doesn't
become, let's say for lack of better word right now,
'natural' to me then I find it hard to remember, and
even become useful. I think I mentioned to you before
how I have too many questions. The philosophy did
become interesting, but it seems to come from you too
much. It does not seem to be, 'the way it is', aside
from your explaining, but that doesn't mean your
thesis is not 'the way it is'. Your philosophy has
naturally become something 'natural' to you. Maybe it
is the philosophy explaining creation that all would
need to heed to someday. I have never given up on
that idea. This whole idea of negation always
happening in the 'one long now' that is hard to grasp.
I understand for me to even grasp that idea is become
Essence itself, which we are not, and therefore I
would not be able to grasp it. Yes, I did say I did
get it. I thought I did have it, but then I threw in
those ideas about choice and bam I seemed to be right
back where we started. Believe me, not intentional.
I like Pirsig's MOQ. It has become 'natural' for
me. I meditate, as I mentioned to you before some
time ago. When I read Pirsig it seemed to fit my
previous understanding of the world, and Pirsig
enhanced it. Not so much change, but enhancement or
clarification became MOQ role in my life.
Since your thesis, is your thesis, and obviously
you know much more about it than I, then I have
something to ask from you. If you could (1) show me
how your thesis fits in with Pirsigian metaphysics or
(2) show me how your thesis does not fit with
Pirsigian metaphysics, then maybe I would better be
able to decide or understand which metaphysics suits
me best. I have not meant to draw this discussion
onward for months, but it just seems I've gotten to a
point where I would rather focus on Pirsig only
because I understand it more. If you could provide
clarity to the comparison between your thesis and
Pirsigs, then I would be able to decide better as to
what is going on between the two as both have become
involved in my life and in discussion on the MOQ.org.
Without trying to explain my situation anymore, I hope
you understand where I am coming from and will assist
me in this comparison that I am 'naturally'
undertaking now.
SA
