Yes, I think they should disappear into the woods,,, for a very long time.

Nothing wrong with 'just sitting', realizing that (what is the 
saying?) 'thou art that', that you're already there.  The problem 
with the hero's journey, in the West, is that they are always 
accompanied by so much violence.
